Whether in public or at work,
breastfeeding is welcome here!
You can breastfeed in all public places
Utah law protects the right to breastfeed in public and states that breastfeeding in public is not in violation of any obscene or indecent exposure laws.
You have a right to breastfeed at work
At both the Federal and the State level, your right to breastfeed and pump at work is protected.
At a bare minimum, you are entitled to:
- a private space that is NOT a bathroom
- enough break time each time you need to pump for one year after your child's birth
What if my employer says I am not allowed to pump at work?
You can file a complaint with the Utah Labor Commission and even seek legal assistance through A Better Balance.
